Landscape Composition of Count Frantisek Josef Schlik and the "Landscape Creation" around the Year 1700
Rychnová, Lucie ; Biegel, Richard (advisor) ; Hojda, Zdeněk (referee) ; Macek, Petr (referee)
This thesis describes the landscape composition of Czech Count Frantisek Josef Slik (Frantz Joseph Schlik, 1656-1740) and attempts to define the influences and principles which were involved in the formation of the landscape in the manors of Kopidlno, Stare Hrady and Velis- Voksice, now in the Czech Republic, during the life of the aristocrat. Frantisek Josef Schlik ruled the manors for over 60 years and during that time he was responsible for many architectural works with considerable landscape-forming and urbanistic potential. A series of visually interlinked chapels was erected in the Velis-Voksice manor. This series included the meierhof with a little palace in Voksice. This landscape composition has been discussed especially as regards its formal design, but its connection to the Count's motivation has been less well researched, as has been the broader social and, especially, religious context in the area. Another aspect that has been put aside, or not perceived within the context of the manorial landscape, were other structures which Frantisek Josef Schlik built or which were of essential importance for the activities in the manor. These structures, meierhofs, were also significant landscape components. This dissertation first attempts to provide a biography of Frantisek Josef Schlik,...
Column orders as bearers of particular meaning: Examples from Czech Baroque architecture
Popatanasovská, Bojana ; Lunger-Štěrbová, Daniela (advisor) ; Oulíková, Petra (referee)
Column orders as bearers of characteristic meaning: Examples from Czech Baroque Architecture The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present the column orders as possible bearers of a certain meaning. For this reason, especially in the Baroque period, the five orders were modified in various ways. In my thesis I will present the most common of these modifications by means of several examples divided according to the five known column orders and one new form whose symbolic meaning I will try to better approach. In the case of the Tuscan Order, this is the example of the gate of the Imperial Mill in Bubenč, while I will demonstrate the modification of the Doric Order by the example of the symbolism of the side facade of the Church of St. Thomas in Prague's Lesser Town. I will describe the Ionic and Corinthian orders in one chapter using the example of the facade of the Troja castle in Prague and the Composite order on the example of the interior of the church of St. John of Nepomuk in Skalka. The last part of the thesis is devoted to a certain new form of the established orders, which I will try to present better on a set of buildings in the surroundings of the Cistercian abbey in Plasy, specifically on the convent of the Plasy monastery itself, the chapel of the Name of the Virgin Mary in Mladotice...

K. I. Dientzenhofer in the service of Society of Jesus Abstract The Diploma Thesis aims to map the famous Jesuit religious buildings arising in the Czech kingdom by the hands of Kilian Ignac Dientzenhofer, as well as some smaller foundations or now-defunct constructions. Firstly it is the rural residences in Liběšice and the completion of the construction in Tuchoměřice or the dispensary in Smíchov, which has been demolished in 1930. Furthermore, the Holy Mountain Steps, which were only partially implemented according to the Dientzenhofer proposal. The Thesis also includes constructions where the architect's authorship is not proven, such as the Chapel of Sts. Archangel Michael in Kozinec and Chapel of Sts. Cross in Středokluky. An important part is also the effort to put these buildings into the context of the work of the younger Dientzenhofer and to get a closer look at the perception of their clients, including the typology of the architectural order within the function. Keywords The Church of St. Francis Xavier, the Church of St. Clement, the Church of St. Nicholas, the Church of St. Bartholomew, Prague, Opařany, Odolena Voda, Lesser Town, Tuchoměřice, Liběšice, radical Baroque, K. The Mannor House and the S. John of Nepomuk Church in Vyklantice in the Age of Harrach
NEVAŘILOVÁ, Zuzana
My thesis deals with the buildings of the castle and the church of Saint John of Nepomuk in Vyklantice which was built between 1722 and 1729 by Jan Jáchym Harrach. Firstly, the work presents the history of the Vyklantice manor and the history of both buildings. Description of the present state of the castle and the church is confronted with photographs from the 1970s. Finally, the work focuses on the genealogy of the Harrachs family and other estates owned by Jan Jáchym and his brother Ferdinand Markvart Harrach. The core of the thesis is in the following chapters which deal with a question of authorship of the Vyklantice constructions. The first criticism has been made on actual addition of researchers who attribute these objects to K. I. Dientzenhofer or J. B. Santini-Aichl and J. L. von Hildebrandt. The survey shows that the buildings in Vyklantice are probably the work of a local builder, as objects do not show the quality of the artistic creation of the architects mentioned above.

Interpretace tradičních strukturálních principů v konstrukcích dočasného charakteru
Joja, Marie
The paper focuses on traditional structural principles of historical buildings of the era 18 to 19 century in the Znojmo region, which are also included in the project „Identification and interpretation of origins, forms and transformations of Baroque cultural landscape of the South Moravian Borderland“. The aim of this work is to describe traditional roof frames of selected historical buildings of the area. The goal of the work is to find a suitable construction detail applied in the traditional roof frames, which would be used for a structure of temporary character. Temporary structures are associated with transient functional use, which can be one of the possible phases in the planned restoration of abandoned sites. The existence of many examples at the international level demonstrates successful redesign of dilapidated buildings by the use of temporary programme. The analysis of traditional structures proposed a suitable structural joint for a design of a modular element for the construction of temporary architecture. Its characteristic is the low-cost production and simple construction, which can be relocated to other places and adapted for further use. The significance of the work lies in the design of elementary structures of objects of a transitory nature, which are based on the traditional building principles of historical monuments and try to preserve structural uniqueness of the architecture.
